HB266 Gonzales LIQUOR TAX DISTRIBUTION TO LOCAL DWI FUND. Increases the distribution of the alcohol excise tax to counties for expenditure on reducing DWI. This bill will change the distribution to provide an additional $3.1 million dollars of the liquor excise tax to address local DWI efforts, according to the Legislative Fiscal Impact Report.

HB1052 McCoy DRIVER EDUCATION SCHOOL LICENSE EXPIRATIONS
Allows the Department of Transportation Traffic Safety Bureau to have different expiration dates for annual licenses.

HB1103 Varela REPEAL DWI PROGRAM FUND (DWI Reallocation) Reallocates money that existed in an old DWI state agency fund. $600,000 will be reallocated to be expended on law enforcement equipment, SID overtime for sales to minors and to persons who are intoxicated, and a study of the effectiveness of DWI Court. *Please note that there has been some confusion regarding this bill. It DOES NOT take funding from the counties, it is a reallocation of old state agency monies that need to be expended.

PEDESTRIAN RIGHT OF WAY IN CROSSWALKS
Requires drivers to yield to pedestrians whenever a pedestrian is in a crosswalk. (under the old law, drivers were only required to yield to pedestrians when they were "upon the half of the roadway in which the vehicle is travelling or when the pedestrian is approaching so closely from the opposite half of the roadway as to be in danger)
. This law applies only when there is no traffic-control device in place, or in operation.
